Pine Rivers Special School is a co-educational state special
school, offering programs from Prep to Year 12.
To be considered eligible for enrolment, students should
have a diagnosed disability of Intellectual Impairment and been verified
through Ed Qld processes.
In addition, students may have an additional diagnosis of
Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Physical Impairment, Hearing Impairment or Vision
Impairment.
The school is
situated 21 kilometres from the centre of Brisbane in the suburb of
Lawnton. The school is on the corner of
Old Gympie Road and Lawnton Pocket Road and services suburbs Lawnton,
Strathpine, Bray Park and Warner as well as areas as far as Dayboro in the
west, North Lakes and Deception Bay in the east, Narangba to the north and Bald
Hills to the south.
Parents and carers of children with disabilities who are of
compulsory schooling age (five years to school leaving age) should contact the Principal
for details of the enrolment process which involves regional office approval.
