​Professional Learning Community (PLC)

At Pine Rivers Special School we believe communication is the foundation of all learning and that all students have the right to communicate.  We support the Communication Bill of Rights. To support the development of these skills and to assist with students’ ability to learn and engage with others, we have adopted a multi-modal philosophy to communication training to incorporate all functions of communication. Many students are supported through use of Alternative and Augmentative (AAC) systems. The foundation of developing communication skills, stems from relationships that motivate and engage students to participate across environments.

Pine Rivers Special School uses a range of communication supports including:
